Mission
The Center for Research and Innovation in Dental Sciences (CIROS), of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, led in March 2020 the creation of a multi-institutional working group under the theme “Dentistry in the post-pandemic COVID -19 ”.
Currently, this working group is part of the Research Unit in Oral and Biomedical Sciences (UICOB), Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon, and BoneLab - Laboratory of Metabolism and Bone Regeneration, Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Porto. The drafting of the Clinical Guidance Standards proposal also had the participation of researchers from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
However, the activity of this working group will evolve towards the creation of other individual partnerships or with similar national and international organizations.
The objectives of this working group are based on:
- In the development, presentation and dissemination of Clinical Guidance Norms for the Medical-Dental clinic activity, in the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic, with particular focus on restarting the activity;
- In the development of research projects to increase biosafety in the clinical practice of Dentistry, in all its aspects, including work conduct and clinical teaching.
